Yogyakarta, July 20, 2024* – The 2024 Summer Course successfully conducted its second and final field trip of the entire Summer Course series. This field trip visited the Attempe Tempe Factory and continued with a short trip to the Vredeburg Fortress Museum.
The field trip began with a visit to the Attempe Tempe Factory located in Maguwo. Attempe is a producer of local non-GMO soybean tempeh. Attempe's products include fresh tempeh and tempeh-based products such as tempeh brownies, tempeh croquettes, and their flagship product, Attempe Chips, which are healthy tempeh chips without MSG and preservatives, available in five distinctive Indonesian flavors.
Mrs. Nurhayati Nirmalasari, the owner of Attempe, delivered the material for this session. She explained the origins of Attempe and the tempeh production process at the factory. Participants also had the opportunity to practice sprinkling yeast on the tempeh and wrapping the tempeh.
After the lunch session, the field trip continued with a short trip to the Vredeburg Fortress Museum. Participants were guided by a tour guide to explore the museum. Enthusiasm was evident from all participants, especially those from abroad. After touring the four dioramas, participants were given free time to explore the museum and take photos.
