Fahrul is a young, outstanding scientist who has over 105 international paper publications and has achieved patents for anticancer and antidiabetes. As a student in the Department of Biology, Fahrul has been actively joining international conferences and building a global network. His hard work made him the youngest delegation at the Nordic Nutrition Conference in Finlandia, the Asian Congress of Nutrition in China, and the International Conference on Nutrition and Growth in Portugal. His research focused on bioinformatics to identify the active compounds of natural products in Indonesia, which have a big potential as a medicine in the future.
In addition to the international awards, Fahrul also received the Medical Innovation Research in Health (MIRAH) award from the Indonesian Doctor Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia/IDI) for his contribution to medical research based on bioinformatics and exploration of Indonesian natural products as medicines. Moreover, Fahrul is an editor and reviewer in Scopus Q1 and Q2 scientific journals. His position and all his achievements are evidence that the young generation in Indonesia can compete at a global level.
Fahrul mentioned that downstream research is important. Indonesia has a huge potential for natural products with active compounds that can be used as a medicine. However, the exploration and utilization are still limited. Therefore, the collaboration of academia and industry is important to make the research has an impact on society. Fahrul hopes his dedication can become an inspiration for the young generation who wants to work in science and medical technology innovation. He advises the young generation to have a big dream. He is sure that hard work and innovation could bring Indonesian young generation compete in a global level.
