Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Sunan Kalijaga proudly announces that they have officially received ASIIN accreditation for their Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics Study Program, marking a significant milestone in their commitment to delivering world-class, internationally recognized education. ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik) is a respected German-based accreditation agency that evaluates higher education programs globally based on strict European and international quality standards, including those outlined in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the Bologna Process. The ASIIN accreditation confirms that the fourth program meets rigorous international scientific and professional education standards. Notably, the Bachelor of Chemistry program has also been awarded the Eurobachelor® Label, placing it in line with top-tier programs across Europe.
The achievement reflects the faculty’s dedication to academic excellence, industry relevance, and continuous improvement in education. It also demonstrates that their graduates are equipped with competencies aligned with global benchmarks and well-prepared for competitive international careers. Moreover, this achievement is a testament to their commitment to integrating academic quality with Islamic values while aligning with international standards. The ASIIN accreditation process involved rigorous evaluation of the institution’s: 1) curriculum structure and learning outcomes; 2) teaching and assessment quality; 3) faculty qualifications and academic infrastructure; and 4) industry relevance and internationalization efforts. The decision of the Accreditation Commission taken on 27 June 2025 regarding the accreditation procedure for the Bachelor’s Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics degree programmes. Considering the assessments of the expert panel and the relevant Technical Committees, the Accreditation Commission decided to give the accreditation with requirements. If the requirements are fulfilled in due time, the certification will be extended until the maximum duration, valid until 18 October 2026.
